Dear you... The one that is reading this...hi 😊. I know, it's been a wee while. All those things, that I've written, channeled, advised on? Yeah..well..they all brought me to my knees. See life has a funny way of showing you your real self, whether you are ready for it or not!
I was busy, too busy to see the incredible number of signs being thrust my way. When you ignore the signs, the little signs become enormous slap-you-sideways-into-next-week kind of signs. The end result is I resigned from my job in less than ideal circumstances. I realised that I was up to my neck with depression, social anxiety and a massive disconnect from myself and my life. I was outside looking in and I no longer recognised myself..scary stuff. I was having suicidal thoughts and judging myself horrifically.
The upside to all of this is that having been here before, I knew what I needed to do. I headed to the doctor quick smart, jumped back on medication, found a counsellor who aligns with what I need right now, and I reconnected with some key people in my life. Now, I am not pro-drug by any means, but if it means keeping me safe in the short term, then that is what we do! I need to be on them six months, of which we are almost half way through.
I am seeing the signs that I am on my way back. On Thursday I was up at one of my most favourite beaches in this stunning country, and I asked for a sign...angels are jokesters..what filled my head straight after with a song...I saw the sign by the Ace of Base. Some days my soul team amuses me considerably!!
Even more time has past, and I am currently focusing on working my way back to soul alignment, and the significant changes that this entails. But that's a post for another day. Until then, live your life as you, for you, as the best you. Anything else is inconsequential.
I send you loads of love xxxx

Love revolution unfolding..
The last few weeks have been a challenge. The cosmic shift has brought new energies and the casting off of old ways..this is not new, it happens fairly regularly..This...this is next level stuff.

http://sandiegofreepress.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Love-Revolution-1_large.jpg
My darling Nana exited the world, my nephew arrived - not wholly unexpected as such is the way of the world, well...my world.
In the lead up to the super moon, 3 tiny little children in my world were diagnosed with horrific childhood cancers, 2 of them with liver cancer that had spread to other body regions. We are all well aware of the violent earthquakes that shook our dear nation to its core, both physically and metaphorically.
It is vitally important that we all stay grounded, connected deeply with Mother Earth. Connected deeply with who we are on a soul level, and live in our deepest truth. Self-care has NEVER been more important than it is right now. It is time to come together as one people, human beings, and operate out of a place of love. An immense surging of negative, fear based energies are swelling up and crashing over us, like a cresting wave crashing down on a desolate beach.
Be kind to yourself, but check in with your friends, your family, your neighbours, your community. This is not a time for hiding behind closed doors, it is time to reach deep within yourself and make a change, to stand for your truth and let love permeate the world. What is it you stand for? What is it that you want to be remembered for? Let that be the foundation for your future that is unfurling before you..don't be afraid of it, allow it to speak through you and to all of those around you.
Be the change you wish to see in the world, in your community and within your self. You are so important, so desperately needed, and a guiding light. Shine bright beautiful soul.

Being a Mama in 2016...

https://my2ndheartbeat.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/heart-mother-child.jpg
I am a Mama. I am privileged to be able to love and guide my beautiful son through this world, and I love it...most days. The thing is, we are living in a time when we expect others, but most especially ourselves, to be superwoman. We expect that we can be all things to everyone, and it simply is not the case.
Mother's all around the world are breaking because they are guilty, because they feel like they are failing, because they feel like they are not providing the very best opportunities for their children, and because they feel inadequate. We are running ourselves into the ground, and losing ourselves in the process.
It is okay to say I'm not coping, or I need a break. You know what? I bloody applaud you for recognising what you NEED!! You do not need to be perfect, there really is no such thing. Please stop with this perpetuating cycle. You are not only harming yourself, but the very children you are trying to protect. They are darling little sponges who pick up on everything...the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Be realistic about what you can achieve, and be okay with that. If it has to get done tomorrow, so what? Will the Earth stop spinning? Do what has to be done and then give yourself a break. I operate a three column list system..something I was taught way back as a beginning teacher. Column #1, what has to be done. Things that are essential for life, if it's not essential, it's not in this list. This is my list that includes things like having someone pick up my child from school, having dinner etc. Column #2, things I'd like to get done today. Things in this list are maintenance items. For example, things like getting to the gym (important for my mental health, but not life or death), grocery shopping etc. Column #3 is things I'd like to get done but are neither essential or necessary. Things like weeding the garden, cleaning the car etc.
At the end of the day, you only have 24 hours in a day - and hopefully 8 of them are spent in slumber, because Mama needs sleep just as much as the children do. Between all the elements that make up your life, you need to make some time in there to prioritise you. Because every time you choose someone over you, you are telling yourself you are not worthy of time or love. And do you know what? That is the same message you are sending out into the Universe, and exactly what you are attracting back to yourself. If you want to experience something different you need to own it, and change it. Only you have the power to do that.
Spend some time with you. Remember what it is that makes you feel alive, what fires up your soul? Then find a way to include that in your day. For me, I have always processed my feelings through movement - dancing is an expression of me and I can't imagine my life without it in it. Children love to dance with you, to move with you. So even if you can't get out to a class, or have space to jam it up, know that chucking on some child-friendly sounds and having a groove session in the kitchen is more than acceptable!!
Superwoman is a myth. You do you, and do you big! Mama's are important! I hope you can see the beautiful and glorious beings I see.

I am enough
Hold onto your hats beautiful souls, because this one is super important! This one is being shouted at me as we speak, because it is important for me to hear also...
Dear one, you are enough exactly as you are. The beliefs you hold about being enough when you have a job, being enough when you lose the weight, being enough when you have x number of children, being enough when you find your soul partner/ shake off the ex-partner etc. etc.
Right here, right now, exactly as you are. You are not flawed, you are not wrong, you are not everything you have told yourself leading up to this point that has made you feel small, unworthy, and broken. You are a glorious, magnificent soul who has so many gifts and talents to offer this world, a world that desperately needs you, ALL of you, right now!
How many of you right now can honestly say that you not only accept yourself, but love the shizz out of yourself? And here lies the crux of the issue at hand. It is one thing to love the part of you that you think is socially acceptable, the one you perceive to be of highest importance. But I am here today to tell you that all of you is worthy of love, and deserves it!
Somewhere along the way, life took its toll. Experience taught us that if I behave a certain way, present myself a certain way, that life will be good. Is it? I bet that you have found yourself full of angst, anxiety, and a fair amount of self-loathing if you are anything like me.
You have to do the work. You and only you, needs to reconnect with all parts of yourself and love the shizz out of them. There may well be tears, anger, rage, regret. But in order to move forward you have to go there. Release the hurt, and let it go. Send it out into the cosmos, and then reflect back the universal love that is waiting for you.
You are worth it. Once you get to that point, it will then become apparent that this is not a once off. Letting life take over and abandoning yourself again will not be an option. Love yourself, each and every day, bare minimum once a day. Be grateful for you, your strengths and your perceived weaknesses. Everything. Always. In what ever way works for you. For me, it is a practice of gratitude, combined with loving movements - because I have always found my bliss in movement. For you, it could be something entirely different. You do you, honouring, loving and celebrating you.
Go gently dear ones, and love your beautiful selves.

Are you listening?
I know..a bit of a confronting title right? But are you? Really? Not to me, though I'm guessing right now that you are, but to yourself, your soul self. Your intuition is your inner guidance, and I'm seeing and hearing a lot of souls at the moment who are deeply disconnected to who they are, never mind what they are doing.
Lady Gaga talks about how she works her way back from exactly this..I highly recommend checking it out...link below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2NuwqZq7Shc
So...who are you? What do you stand for? And are you paying attention? Signs are all around you - they are in the lyrics of the songs, the words in a story, the meme that you scroll past on Facebook. They are in the repeating numbers you see, the cloud formations, the feathers, the smells..they are literally everywhere. However, if you are not looking, they will pass you by.
The answers are right in front of your face dear one. Ego will muffle your clarity, look past what your ego is telling you. It thinks it is helping you, protecting you..when the reality is that it is hindering you..greatly.
Find your way back to you beautiful soul, and connect inwards. When you do, you'll be better able to see the signs and trust your own intuition. It's like a muscle, the more you flex it - the bigger and stronger it will grow.

What's in a word...

This week, someone I know posted an interesting question in a spiritual group I'm in. It had to do with what your definition of freedom is and whether you feel you are free or not. I found this interesting on many levels, because when I asked myself whether I felt free or not - the answer surprised me..because by the definition I have come to know of freedom, theoretically my answer should have been the polar opposite!
So I ask you...are you free? And how do you know this?
For me freedom is bigger than being able to go and do what you want, when you want it. It is bigger than getting out of a situation that is restricting you. It is bigger than just about everything.
The definition I arrived at, had a distinct spiritual feel to it, as after all what is bigger than your soul?! I feel you are free when you acknowledge, accept, and express yourself in your entirety - authentically, 100% purely, you. Because at the end of the day, if you are not acknowledging all of you, loving the shizz out of every aspect, every cell of you...who else is going to? If you are not loving the totality of you, are you truly present to your every experience, living purely, gratefully? I don't know that you can.
Like everything else I've come to know, freedom is a journey. It may feel that freedom comes and goes depending on life experiences. But I feel that if the freedom you are experiencing is not on a soul level, then I don't think this is true freedom. To experience the kind of freedom I am talking about, you don't need to spend the rest of your life in meditation, you don't need to be living alone. You do need to start to believe in your worth, to know that you are here for a reason - a very big one! No one can do you like you! Your particular set of skills and gifts are part of what makes you uniquely you.
Life is a journey, and so is the experience of soul level freedom. Learn, grow, expand, stretch, and above all love you, all of you.

Finding the blessings in everyday
Hello beautiful souls, I am sorry it has been so long between blog posts! Life is an interesting thing, just when you are expecting smooth sailing, the water suddenly becomes very turbulent!
I have hit rather turbulent water as of late.I have a super rare bone condition, where I grow copious amounts of extra bone. The bone growth has got so bad recently that I'm at risk of the bone erupting through the skin in my foot. It is far worse than any of us had come to expect.
And do you know what? I have had to surrender to the experience. Release control, expectations, and outcomes. Which is much harder than it sounds - particularly as someone who is all these things and more in every aspect of their life!
I have written about gratitude before, but now, more than ever, I realise just how important and significant it is in creating and maintaining a positive mindset.
The thing with surgery, particularly big surgery such as this one, is that it is essential to maintain a positive mindset. Finding joy in the little things, rather than the stress in everything! It is not an easy practice, but one that is fundamental to experiencing a life of joy and happiness.
This week I am grateful for everyone I have in my life, near or far, old or new. Each of you contributes to my life, a life that I am so proud to live. For now my focus is on gratitude and finding out what the learning is in the situation. Being able to retrieve the learning is so important. The learning for me, right now, is about surrendering, letting go, and releasing all that no longer serves me. Refining my life, my experience. Yesterday has gone, and no matter what happened, I take the learning from the situation and send it on with love. It is not easy, it is a process, and I am getting better at it..albeit slowly.
What are you grateful for?

Challenges a plenty..

Life is a funny thing...just when you think things are going wonderfully, something comes up, and BOOM! Suddenly it feels like the world as we know it is crumbling down. I've been reading a lot of Gay Hendricks lately, and if you haven't read his book on the Big Leap then you totally should. It's definitely worth a read. He talks about the glass ceiling that we hit - the proverbial thermostat that keeps you living within a certain equilibrium.
Well, I have certainly hit my own glass ceiling this week. One of my challenges, ongoing challenges, is my foot. I have a rather unique ability to grow extra bone, and it has been doing it rather dramatically lately. The upshot is that I am going to need surgery to sort it out. How does this relate I hear you ask? Well, I have always been an exercise fanatic - I love it, it fills me with joy - especially when exercise meets dance. Suddenly I can't dance, leap, jump, lunge or a multitude of movements. Once upon a time I would be feeling sorry for me..hid in the corner and waited until the sun came out again.
Part of the evolution of life, is being able to adapt to the challenges that come your way, and view them as learning opportunities. So, in view of that, I have adapted. Rather than focusing on what I can't do, I am looking at what I can do. I can do cardio on the cross-trainer, do weights with some slight tweeks. I can swim, and I can do yoga - with modifications.
I challenge you dear soul, to look at your own life. Where are you hitting your own glass ceiling? What behaviour would that have presented previously? What can you do in the here and now? What can you be grateful for? The sun is truly shining in and through you. Can you feel it?

Welcome 2016..
Well hello beautiful souls, it's been a while! We are steadily approaching the half way mark of the very first month of 2016. A nine year. A year of finishing off, tidying up in preparation of...well, anything your heart desires!
For me, this means a focus on health, in all dimensions - emotionally, physically, spiritually, the whole nine yards! I have spent the best part of the last two weeks getting really present to what I want out of 2016 and making a plan on how to get there. Acknowledging all that was in 2015 - the highs, the lows, the inbetweens, and releasing it with love. And now I am ready, to experience the full capacity of life in 2016.
On a more personal note - my physical self needs a bit of assistance from the medical profession. So early 2016 means bone surgery on my foot, which is quite out of control at the moment. Nothing like a challenge, but this too shall pass.
So my question to you is...What do you want from 2016? And what are you doing to make it happen? For example, my mission is to start my day earlier so I can fully honour myself in my day, before the household gets up and rolling. The way I am working towards this, is by each week setting my alarm for 15 minutes earlier, until such time as I have made space for my yoga and meditation practices. Baby steps. Please know dear one, that you don't need to do everything right this very minute, but moving slowly towards your goal IS success. You are moving so much faster than everyone still sitting on the couch, because YOU are moving - in which ever way that presents for you.
Make 2016 count. Honour your spirit, go hard on self-loving yourself baby!!

Christmas craziness has hit..
Two weeks! It's been two weeks! How on earth did that happen!?!! I'm having a wee breather in amongst the craziness of my sewing machine cranking for presents to talk with you about self care.
We've visited self care before, but it's a timely reminder of the absolute necessity for making time for you! You, the train driver. It's all well and good to fuel the passengers, but if you forget about the driver..well, that train isn't going anywhere!
Beautiful souls, this does not need to be a huge, extravagant, timely exercise. Self-care can occur anywhere, for as long as you are able. It can be as simple as closing your eyes and taking three deep, cleansing breaths..not the shallow breathing we are all used to, but full on belly breaths.
If you have slightly longer, it could be walking outside and planting your bare feet on the grass whilst looking up at the sky..clouds during the day, stars and moon at night, whilst having three plus deep belly breaths.
Got longer still? Try a deep soothing bath, complete with candles, a glass of wine, and perhaps some meditation music. You could even turn it into a complete pamper session, with a face mask, body scrub etc.
Here's the thing. Self-care is important. It isn't selfish, it's self preserving. The more you put into yourself, the more you have to give to others. You are not taking away from others, really, you're not.
Don't have a spare second in your day? Then darling, you need to look at your day. Have your lunch outside, instead of in a stuffy staffroom. Walk to work and have your deep breaths on your way. Trying to get baby to sleep - pop them in the buggy and get moving. Doing something, anything for yourself, priority one!
Only getting 3 hours sleep, then aim for 4. Eight hours sleep can seem like a far away dream with young children, but improving things can be as simple as adding an extra hour, an extra minute. You ARE worth it. Believe it. Say it, yes, but you need to believe it at a soul level. When you truly believe it, you will action it, and you will see the difference it makes. You try having it, then suddenly not having it, and notice what happens. You need this. Life is much more than merely surviving. Igniting your own light is imperative. How do you glow? By loving yourself dear one..like you are the most important person in the world, because you are!!!

Knowing me, knowing you...
Hello beautiful souls!
This one comes from the angels themselves..I have had this well known ABBA song rampaging through my head all evening - which for me means that there is something my soul team wants to say.
As much as this song is about a break up, the lyrics strongly support the message of knowing who you are so that you can know others too. What do I mean about knowing you? When someone tells you that it is important to know yourself, it can seem like a huge task - especially if you've had a life of putting everyone else before yourself. You might well be the kind of person that has been so giving in relationships, that you have lost all knowledge of who you are, what you like, and what the special things are that make you you!
And if this is you, you need to know that you are worthy of knowing! You deserve to be recognized and celebrated. You are a miracle, you are magnificent, you matter.
But how do you go about knowing you if you've lost all knowledge of you I hear you ask? Well dearest one, you need to make time for you. You need to spend time with you, finding out what it is that lights you up inside - is it dancing, learning, spending time outside, star gazing? It may in some ways seem like a process of elimination. But do you know what? Every time you cross something off, you are one step closer to finding you. It is no secret that I am very pro meditation, and when I was truly lost from myself, it was like my guiding light back home. What ever it is that makes your heart sing, your soul light up, those are the very things that you need to prioritize.
Enough hiding dear one, you are far too important to be hiding. Your gift to this world is unique, no one else can be you more than you. The world needs you. Be you. Love you. Honour you.

Knowing yourself..
Today, I am not feeling myself..Nothing is wrong per say, but I just have a heavy weight on my being, and I know that it is time to withdraw for a little while.
Part of my pool of gifts is being an empath. If I'm not careful, I take on the world's problems, and the world's energies to the detriment of my own being. Suddenly, I end up feeling like I'm on an episode of the Horders - you know the one? Where people's houses are filled to the brim with all sorts of odds and sods that they have collected along the way, to the point where their houses are so full, that there isn't any room for themselves..not even a spot on the couch to sit on...My skin feels stretched, hot and tight. My emotions are bouncing off the walls and entirely too much.
So I will be detoxing..getting rid of all the baggage I have acquired and strengthening my protection. It's really a "It's not you, it's me" situation. Thing is, if you are anyway sensitive like I am, this will inevitably happen. Even with your protection and cleansing rituals dialed up, even the strongest of wills will crumble. You need to recognize these signs in yourself. Once upon a time I would have soldiered on, dug deep and risked complete breakdown. Experience tells me though, this is not the time to be foolhardy.
Be aware of your intuition dear ones. No one can tell you this but you. Recognize the little niggles, the gut feeling that is telling you that you are approaching your upper threshold. Look for the signs, they are all around you.

Speaking your truth
Do you speak it? Or even hear it? Most of us in this world are so busy being busy in this world, that we speak without commitment and listen without actually hearing. Take a minute to reflect on your day..how often did you actually listen to what someone had to say? How many times did you express what you truly wanted to say?
Now, I'm not saying that we should speak every thought that comes to your mind..a lot of those thoughts could wind us up in a fair amount of trouble. I'm talking about your truth, those parts of you you are hiding for fear of recrimination.
From very early on in our lives, the message of not being good enough is strongly imprinted on our brains - I know it was with me. Somehow I came to strongly believe that I needed to be a super woman - best at everything, doing everything for myself and others. The outcome? Disconnection to my self. Not any time for me, racing around like a lunatic from one thing to another, without even a fleeting thought for myself. Really appealing to be there for others, but at what cost?
I was at one end of the spectrum..but there is another. Those with so much self belief and sense of entitlement that they become the takers to my fellow givers of this world. Some how there needs to be a middle ground. Neither end of the spectrum is serving you very well, and either end of the spectrum is limiting your experience of life.
Speaking and listening is a skill. Being able to get your message across without being unkind, or perceived the wrong way takes effort. And if you are anything like me, you'll be worrying yourself sick when faced with a situation where you need to speak your truth..reveal your true self, the unedited version - not the one you put out there everyday.
And as for listening? Well, that is just as much a skill. There is a difference between hearing and truly listening. When you are truly listening the truth in me honours the truth in you. You listen to not only the message that is being portrayed through words, but you listen to body language also, and connect to the message within your being.
I challenge you to observe how many times you really listen, and speak your truth in a day. Darling soul, you deserve the true connection that truly listening and speaking your truth will bring. Don't hide anymore, let your magnificent light shine free! You are too treasured to be caged and restricted, even when you impose the cage and restrictions. Shine on beautiful one, in every cell of your being.

Finding balance, finding your inner zen...finding YOU!
Today has been a good day... and I have been reflecting on why this is..not in a morbid glass half empty kind of way (which, in all honesty, is how I used to view not only the world, but everything in it), but in a way that is full of gratitude.
Thing is, as I said above this hasn't always been my go to reaction, nor my way of being in my life. For the best part of 39 years, I have fixated on what was wrong, what wasn't good enough, what my failings were, and why I wasn't as good enough. That is one heck of a drain on your energy, your mental capacities, and your soul's ability to radiate light and love at it's fullest potential.
So what changed? Many things. Essentially my higher self had a wee shout in my ear, and said ENOUGH!You've almost lived half your life, the next half deserves some of that happiness action you've been passing around like marshmellows to everyone you meet.
And so it is. Gratitude is an amazing practice, and seriously the best way to wind down your day. But the funny thing is that once you get used to practicing gratitude, it becomes your way of thinking. Like I can smile as I go about my day, and be grateful all the time, even in the little moments. Moments such as my son being a clown, or my husband rubbing my head as he walks past me, or a bird fluttering around my feet whilst I'm hanging out the washing. Every day does not need to be mundane, there are so many moments to be thankful for, and grateful for.
About 20 months ago, I lost my best friend after a courageous battle with brain cancer. I never thought I would ever come out the other side of the grief that overwhelmed me. Look for me in the rainbows she said - and you'd be amazed at how many times, in how many ways I see rainbows in my every day - oftentimes in places where you'd have to wonder how did that get here? She made it until shortly after her 38th birthday. Taken far too soon. She was the best in so many people.
Today there is lightness in my step and my heart as I remember her, and love her still. She never got to be 39 or anymore numbers. Every day is a blessing, with more potential and gifts than you can possibly imagine. Don't waste your days picking apart what coulda, shoulda, woulda.. Choose to turn it around, choose to see the glass half full, choose to fill your heart full of gratitude, and choose to see the potential in every moment, every gesture. Life is for living, completely, radiantly. Every day you spend pulling apart, is one you will never ever get back. Find your joy, find your peace, find your bliss. It's out there waiting for you...go live it with resounding abundance.

Living with passion..

Lately I have been thinking about what it means to truly live. Not the existing that a whole truckload of us do, but the kind of living that ignites your soul and puts fire in your belly. The kind of life that makes you jump out of bed in the morning with joyous excitement for what the day may hold, the adventures you will see and partake in.
Here's the thing..we are all only here for a finite length of time, and no one knows which day will be our last. Do you want your last day to be like this? Is that the legacy you want to leave behind?
In order to have a joyful life, you need to have a joyful mindset. You need to feel it in your heart and your soul...and you can. The limitations and restrictions you feel come from your ego - ego resides in our brain. Ego will also limit your existence, diminish the joy.
To live an awesome life, you just need to decide one thing...decide that you deserve to live a life of awesomeness, and believe it with every cell in your being. That's it. Once you project that out to the world, to the universe, your experience in this world will light the fire in your belly. Trust that it will come. It will.

In the aftermath of recent events, it is even more important that we operate from a place of love. Hate just leads to more hate, it does not cancel it out - it only gives more power to those that are operating out of this state of being. But how does one do this? No one ever said it would be easy, but if you have been on my facebook page this week, you will have seen the card I drew for us all..See only love..which seems more than a little appropriate right now!
When you operate from a place of love, your energy is light and bright, and you attract similar energy from those around you. When you operate from a place of hate, your energy is dark and heavy, and you attract similar energy around you.. See the pattern? What do you want in your life? What do you want to attract? I know for me, I'm all about light and bright!
The world is hurting right now, there are so many people and places that are reeling in an aftermath, their very foundations rocked and crumbling. It is devastating to watch, and for those that are in it - the world must appear to be so volatile right now. It is in the rubble though, that we can make vital choices. You can post your stake in the ground and say enough. I am not going to be that person anymore. I will operate my life in this way, and not give away my energy to those that will drain me. I choose to honour myself, and my right to live a peaceful life.
It is not about being these things in spite of someone else. It is about coming from a place of love, honouring yourself, honouring your truth, and sending anyone who does not fulfill this on with love. Our world is desperate for love, lets start a love wave and see how far we can echo it.

Perceptions..,

Here's the thing.. 2015 has been a rough year for a lot of people within my circle. For me it has been a year of fixing things - doing the hard yards, laying the foundations for a brighter future, for myself and my family. Meanwhile, all around me there have been break ups and break downs, most of which are unbelievably messy and complicated.
I have been reminded of this truth though, our perceptions cloud our judgments. I have lived this. What I thought were judgments others were making of me, were thinking of me - was in fact, my perception of their reality. And round and round it goes. What starts off as an inkling, becomes full on nausea inducing, and then inevitably it becomes life or death.
If we can just slow it down - challenge those thoughts..Is this actually happening, or is it my perception of the situation? Sometimes it will absolutely be reality, but other times we give our brains (our ego) full reign of our cognitive capacities, and it ends in disaster, we metaphorically spontaneously combust!!
But combusting leads to other complications..trust me, I know! Too many times, I have to dig deeper than I thought it humanly possible, into parts of me that I did not know even existed..but exist they did...and they exist in you too! How do I know? Because you are the infinite universe in motion, you are loved beyond levels that you can possibly fathom. Challenges such as the ones that you have/are or will be facing in the future, will mold and shape you. I think of it as a tree branch..at times there is damage to the branch and the tree must repair itself, which leads to visible scarring, it is three dimensional and interesting. It is, however, changed from the branch it once was - it now has angles and texture where once it was smooth and flat that. That scarring, creates a new way of being, and with each scarring, you learn that it will not break you, it will challenge you (absolutely), and it will cause you to alter the you you currently know. But that is a good thing, that is how we grow.
Humanity's first reaction is to say - I won't do that, I'll limit my experiences so that I don't get hurt, so I don't need to feel pain and adversity. Yes, that may be true, but do you know what else you limit? Your happiness, your ability to give and receive love, your abundant experience of this lifetime. Living safely, completely, shields you from pain, but it prevents you from truly living. Dear one, you deserve so much more than to live your life full of restrictions.
Perceptions are part of the human experience - we need to negotiate our way around them. Don't be clouded by your perception of other people's perceptions - you will literally and figuratively tie yourself up in monumental knots, until you reach a place where you no longer know which way is up anymore. Untangle yourself, know yourself, love yourself - because, in the end, that self belief, that truth...is all you need.
You can do this. I believe in you.

I am worthy...
I am a mother, a teacher, a wife, and a multitude of other roles that all come with responsibility. I have never been good at putting myself first..in fact, I have spent my entire life putting everyone else's needs ahead of my own...to my detriment.
What I've come to realise though, is that I can be none of these things, if I don't look after myself. By that, I mean more than making sure that I've eaten and drunken enough water to function...that's really important, but self care is so much more than that. In my darkest hour, it was explained to me in the best way I have ever heard, and one that I could truly relate to as a mother. Treat yourself like a toddler. What do you do for your toddler? Yes, you make sure they have had enough food and water, but you don't stop there. You make sure that they've had enough sleep, you provide them with some stimulation, but not too much stimulation. You spend some quality time with them, but also give them some time to explore the world around them in a safe manner. You give them love and cuddles when they need it, and sometimes just because it feels good. You tell them you love them, and focus on the positive - positive reinforcement, we are told, is a good thing.
Question....How much of this do you do for yourself? Seriously, sit in a quiet place, and really contemplate this...Do you do this for yourself? Until about 4 years ago, my honest answer?....Almost never. I'd get so busy doing stuff, that I'd skip meals, survive on coffee, and definitely not drink enough water. I wasn't sleeping well - and nowhere near the recommended 8 hours a day. I was too busy saying yes to everyone to realise that I was saying no to me.
Every time I said yes to someone else, I was saying no to me.
I was saying no to my hopes and dreams, I was saying no to being worthy of love and affection, I was saying no to quality of life, I was saying no to who I am at my core. And do you know what this lead to? Soul sadness. Complete and utter disconnection from who I was as a person, and what I stood for.
What do you stand for? Who do you stand for?
The truth of the matter is, all that stuff..all those roles and responsibilities? They meant nothing. What mattered in my heart was happiness..mine, my husband's and my child's. Everything else was just stuff, stuff that was drowning and suffocating me. Then came the lightning bolt moment (forget this light bulb business). My husband and child were unhappy because I was unhappy, which was making them unhappy...and so the cycle perpetuated. At some point there comes a time when you have to say STOP!!!!
Self-care is not selfish, it is not indulgent, and it is certainly not something that can be shelved until the time is right. There is never going to be a right time, that time is now. Think of it this way, the train won't go without the driver, the same way you can't give to anyone else until you give to yourself.
It doesn't have to be a massively time consuming thing. It could be walking outside for five minutes and looking at they sky - the clouds, the stars, the moon..though please don't look at the sun, you're eyes won't thank you for it! A bath, a run, what ever it is that makes you feel alive, that fills your belly with joy. Stop saying yes to everyone else but yourself, you deserve some yes's too. That little toddler inside you is screaming out for some love, some quality time with you.
You deserve it. You need it. You are so loved by everyone else, and now you need to love yourself. Abundantly. You are the universe and the universe is you. It is time to experience your magnificence. Own it, it's yours. Don't just dream it...BE it (to quote the Rocky Horror Picture Show).

Finding your way back to you..
How many days in how many ways do you find yourself thinking, feeling, hoping and wishing that you knew deeply who you are? Not as a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend, or what ever label you are choosing to place on yourself today, but as who you are, truly, deeply, at a soul level?
Sometimes we are so busy, paddling furiously to stay afloat, that we don't even notice the invisible bars that have found their way around our glorious beings. That is, until you go to spread your wings...
So many of us, are searching in any and every corner, near and far, for the inner truth that we have long since forgotten about. Do you remember? As a child, not caring what others thought, not caring what you wore, thought or said? YOU could be anything you wanted, and often were many things all at once. My son, right now, thinks that he is going to be a heart surgeon and hulk smash - and doesn't bat an eyelid. He is deeply serious, and deeply passionate about both!
So what can we do about it? How can we make it better? YOU need to make time for YOU. You need to be your own best friend. Spend time with you, doing things that you love to do...and if right now you have absolutely no idea what those things might be, spend some time finding out! Spending time with you..splashing in the waves, watching a sunset, stargazing, painting, dancing..what ever it is, you need to make time for it. And after that? Meditate. Meditate my dear one, once you have developed a practice of meditation - you will learn that you can, and will, connect with your higher self in your meditations. You can ask questions, and receive guidance, but most of all you will gain a sense of serenity in knowing you, the glorious, magnificent being who is reading this right now.
Don't worry how far away you have come from being connected to you. It is never too late, and you'll never be too far away from working your way back. Your soul team will only ever come to you from a place of pure love. You are loved more than you can possibly imagine, infinitely, completely, truthfully. Know that in your heart, your heart is your connection to self - self love, self worth, self acceptance. All you need is time to spend with you, and peace to listen.
